Next month, one of our dear MVRF friends, Mario Tobia, will be playing in the 2013 United States Blind Golf Association Open National Championship in Portland, Oregon. Mario received the 2013 Most Courageous Athlete of the Year Award from the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association and is currently the top ranked blind golfer going into the tournament. The tournament, which runs from August 17th to 23rd, will be hosting the best blind golfers from all over the world, including the three top ranked players. We here at MVRF would like to send Mario our best wishes. We will be cheering for you Mario!

Mario Tobia

You can meet Mario on September 16th at the Middle Atlantic Blind Golf Association (MABGA) and MVRF golf outing. Mario is a member of MABGA, the largest blind golfing chapter in the nation, and is excited to be golfing for a cause that is so close to his heart. This event will help MVRF raise funds for our mission to restore vision and bring hope to those devastated by retinal diseases.

Our goal is to raise $65,000 this year and we need your help! If you haven’t already, please consider being a sponsor. There is a sponsorship level for every budget and every skill level. Please register before September 1st and reserve your spot right away in this unique outing. All money goes towards a great cause, so come join us. We know this will be an event to remember.
