Scientists recently released the results from the second Age-Related Eye Disease Study (AREDS2).  In 2001, researchers based at the National Eye Institute conducted the first AREDS study which found a formula (the AREDS formula) that can reduce the risk of developing age-related macular degeneration (AMD).  Five years later, the same group began a study called AREDS2 to determine if they could improve the original AREDS formula by adding omega-3 fatty acids as well as antioxidants.  Now, the results are in!  Read this article from the National Eye Institute to find out the results:
